In line with our mission of supporting the expansion of native plants in the region, our selection primarily includes plants that are easy to find in the wild but hard to obtain for your garden. National, big box retailers often sell exotic plants that are detrimental to the native ecology yet local, beneficial plants should not be harvested from the wild, or from private property without permission, or especially from conservation areas. Growing from seed can be both labor and time intensive. Yet, transplanting risks damage to the plant or its environment and can contribute to the spread of pathogens and pests, most notably Asian jumping worms. Our volunteers are working to address this dilemma.
All of our plants are sourced through donations by like-minded individuals, grown locally by volunteers from sustainable and ethical local seed collections or cuttings, rescued with permission from development sites, or obtained from other non-profits with similar missions. No plants are purchased from any commercial nurseries.
We are currently developing infrastructure and inventory while working on volunteer training on best practices. Availability will begin in Spring of 2025. Please download our price list below which is designed to be both sortable and searchable and includes links to learn about the ecological benefits of the various plants offered. Featured rescues will be listed at the bottom of the list.
